Finisterre, Public House
Oaxaca City, Oaxaca, Mexico
Professor, Silvia Acosta

Finisterre means the end of the earth, but it’s a way of working for the clients, Mexican artists Josué Vázquez Saldaña and Selene Márquez Martínez. Finisterre embodies the two artists’ lives, as they are always between the realms of working, inviting the public in, and living their own private life. This condition is spatialized episodically. Spaces between realms and mechanized openings start to orchestrate their Finisterre. The primary material used is adobe brick, a traditional local material, allowing local builders to attain resources and construct sustainably.
